The Language of Experience
To experience one gathers within the present moment all the thickness of acquired experience as well as that which is new. The author examines certain aspects of this in relationship to language. In a co-created, changing situation, the newness of the moment which is shown in actions may be expressed partially by using verbs. Acquired experience, often implicit, will take form only within the contact which is established within the relationship. These experiences, composed of actions and therefore verbs, are structured into totalities (gestalts) which will be expressed to another by using various conjunctions. It is here that we find the rhetoric of the experience and that which constitutes the personality function of the self.
