Turboelectric Distributed Propulsion in a Hybrid Wing Body Aircraft
Turboelectric distributed propulsion (TeDP) is a relatively new concept that has the potential to improve aircraft fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and enable new aircraft configurations. This concept uses turbine engines to generate electrical power, which is then distributed to multiple propulsors throughout the aircraft. The NASA N3-X aircraft concept is an example of a TeDP aircraft configuration that uses a hybrid wing body (HWB) aircraft design.
